Lew's Story: The Beginning of a Legacy:
It all started when Lew, at just 21 years old, found himself at the helm of his family's business after the sudden passing of his father. With no formal business background, having had to quit college to take on this new responsibility, Lew faced a daunting challenge. However, his determination and resilience paved the way for what was to come.
Lew's introduction to Rotary was a turning point in his life. He had presented a request to the local Rotary Club for funds to initiate a Big Brother and Sister program, a gesture that not only showcased his community spirit but also his leadership potential. The request was granted, but what followed was even more significant. The president and two board members of Rotary, impressed by Lew's presentation and leadership abilities, approached him with an offer he couldn't refuse - to join Rotary and be mentored by them in the ways of business.
Under the guidance of seasoned professionals from various fields such as banking, CPA, insurance, and more, Lew flourished. The mentorship he received was instrumental in transforming his family's business into a success story that spanned over 40 years. This experience not only underscored the importance of mentorship in Lew's life but also instilled in him a deep appreciation for community service.
